Summer Camp Trainings

Professional Sessions Led by Industry Experts

We have many popular sessions designed to address the topics that are most important to our clients, of course we are always happy to customize a session based on your specific needs.

Most sessions are 75 minutes but can be adjusted to meet your timetable.

We offer half day and full day options.  For a half day of training choose two sessions.  For a full day choose three or four.

Recommended for this year:

  • 5 Skills Every Staff Member Needs- This engaging and succinct session is a great training for any group of staff.  We focus on five important skills that staff members should possess and we help them develop those skills.  The first one is “Instant Bonding” and we teach staff how to make great initial impressions with campers, families and pretty much anyone else.

  • Creating a Culture of Fun & Safety- Ensuring campers’ safety doesn’t mean sacrificing the fun. We will give staff guidance on how to provide  consistent, effective supervision to all areas of camp, from arrival, to dismissal and everything in between. We will be sure to cover all of the necessary topics to meet state licensing requirements including risk management, recognizing and report abuse, proper active supervision, etc.

  • Values Based Team Building - This extended session uses the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility as the basis to teach hands on team building and  group problem solving. We will debrief each activity thoroughly so  that staff can understand the functions of their roles. Second, we will  teach staff how to lead a progression of activities from icebreaker to get to know you games,  teambuilding initiatives and just some all-out fun activities.

  • Making It Great! -This is an interactive session with 10 key things that every counselor should do to transform a good session  of camp into a great one. This is our most popular session and includes simple, straightforward  take always that staff members can use immediately. We cover: understanding why you’re there,  being prepared, making downtime fun, first day tricks and more.

  • What Parents Want- Parents are your customers, so this is a great introductory session to help staff start to understand the bigger  picture of why parents have chosen your camp and what it is that they and their kids are truly hoping to  get out of the experience such as to gain independence, to learn new skills, make friends, and be with  positive role models.
